Xiphactinus skull. The lower jaws
measure 14 inches. The skull has been
placed in an artificial matrix and is exactly as was found.

Enchodus petrosus email for price Item #FF14

Description: This is a very rare Enchodus petrosus from the Niobrara Chalk of Kansas. The skull is complete with just minor repair
to the back of it. There is a minor
fracture running through the piece and that is all that has been repaired. The fracture is present in the dark area at
the back of the skull and is about Ό wide.
The dark area is bone that has root material growing in it and could not
be removed. The upper teeth measure 1.
7/8 long. Some of the bone is covering
part of the upper tooth. Both jaws are
present and complete (difficult to tell in the picture) and all four of the
front fangs are present and complete.
The lower jaw measure 8.25 long.
There appears to be part of another fish inside of this one. The last picture shows the small string of
vertebra present. These vertebra are
about half the size of the enchodus vertebra.
This fossil is in the original matrix which has been surrounded by an
artificial matrix to hold it together.
This has been set in an oak box that measures 21.5 x 19 x 1.5

Description: This is a complete Apsopelix fish. The fish itself measures 12.75 long. It is in the original chalk matrix. The matrix measures 15 x 6.

Description: This protosphyraena fin is set in an
artificial matrix. It was set in the
matrix in the field and is exactly as it was found. The fin is missing part of the back side, but
the tip is complete (a rare find for this species and size). The matrix measures 61 x 15. The fin itself measures 57 ½ long and 9 ½
wide at the joint. Protosphyraena fish
were composed mostly of cartilage and thus only the fins and skulls are
preserved as fossils.

long and 4 wide. This piece includes
part of the scapulo-coracoid bones. The

completely removed from the matrix. Unfortunately
the upper part of the skull had washed away.
The skull is exactly as found and what is left is articulated. The width of the skull across the bottom is
13.5. The lower jaws are 12 long. The longest protruding tooth is 2. No restoration has been done to this
skull. The entire skull has been treated
with paleobond to preserve it. The stand
is included.
